Red 5

Red 5 was a German Eurodance project that exploded onto the dance music scene in the late 1990s, known for delivering high-impact, club-ready anthems with a futuristic flair. Formed by Thomas Kukula—the mastermind also behind General Base—Red 5 stood out with a sound that blended heavy beats, sci-fi themes, and catchy vocal hooks.

The project’s breakout single, “Da Beat Goes” (1996), became a massive hit across European clubs and charts. With its pounding rhythm, robotic voice samples, and hypnotic energy, the track encapsulated everything that made Eurodance thrive during the era. It was followed by hits like “I Love You... Stop!”, “Lift Me Up,” and “For This World”, all of which showcased Red 5’s signature blend of techno-laced dance music with a pop-accessible edge.

Their debut album, “Forces,” released in 1998, cemented Red 5’s place in the Eurodance landscape. While the project had a relatively short lifespan, it left a powerful impact with its futuristic visuals, commanding production, and instantly recognizable sound.

Today, Red 5 is remembered fondly by Eurodance fans as one of the genre’s most creative and energetic acts—proof that a beat, when done right, truly never stops.
