It all started back in 1986...
What began in Stockholm as SweMix, a trailblazing music production and remix DJ collective founded by Denniz Pop and colleague DJs in the late 1980s, was the origin of a monthly DJ service releasing vinyl- and CD-sets. Offering a variety of remixes for promoting both new and established artists towards a broader membership based DJ community. Rotating and making waves in both clubs and on radio. It quickly became the bedrock of Swedish dance music, which over time also began to spread abroad. SweMix not only revolutionized remix culture but also paved the way for over 1,100 remixes a legacy today carried forward by Remixed Records and music producer Giovanni Sconfienza. Over the years, all shaped together by the creativity of many DJs and producers, the collective helped define an era that has created an everlasting footprint in the music industry.
It definitely sparked Sweden’s successful and ongoing impact on pop and dance music internationally. As the '90s unfolded Denniz Pop, as mentor, namely launched Cheiron Studios with Max Martin and extending collaborations with some of Sweden's absolute top music producers still reshaping the global music scene, now for over 35 years and counting...
Remixed Records "DJ's Only" emerged to uphold SweMix’s legacy, keeping its spirit alive through fresh releases and over time many new collaborations.
Evolving into a dance music powerhouse, the label have delivered exclusive remixes that has shaped club culture worldwide. Remixed Records, built upon SweMix’s foundation and further expanding its influence, was marked by the acquisition of its vast remix catalogue and DJ service. Which ensured its pioneering origins has remained relevant, inspiring new generations of DJs and producers. May the legacy continue!
