Waldo, born in 1967, is a Finnish Eurodance musician who rose to prominence in the mid-1990s with his upbeat, synth-driven sound. As a solo artist, he found success with hits like “It’s About Time” and “Feel So Good,” both of which captured the energetic, melodic spirit of the Eurodance movement. His debut album It’s About Time was a commercial success, earning gold certification in Finland in 1996.
In 1998, Waldo transitioned from solo performer to frontman of the group Waldo’s People, serving as both lead vocalist and songwriter. The band embraced a blend of Eurodance and pop elements, gaining a strong following in Finland and building momentum internationally. Their biggest moment on the European stage came in 2009, when they represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow with the track “Lose Control.” The group qualified for the final as the jury’s selected act from the first semi-final. In the final, however, they finished in 25th place, scoring 22 points.
Despite the Eurovision outcome, Waldo remains a respected and recognizable figure in Finnish dance music, known for his energetic style and contributions to the genre.
