Maxx is a German Eurodance project that rose to international fame in the mid-'90s with hit singles like “Get-A-Way,” “No More (I Can’t Stand It),” and “You Can Get It.” Formed in Berlin in 1993 by David Brunner (The Hitman) and Jürgen Wind (George Torpey), Maxx quickly became a major name in European dance music.
Their debut single, “Get-A-Way,” featured rapper Gary Bokoe (Gary B.) and session singer Samira Besic. While Besic recorded the vocals, dancer Alice Montana appeared in the music video. Released in October 1993, the song became a Top 10 hit across Europe, selling over 1.1 million copies and earning Gold and Silver certifications.
Following its success, British singer Linda Meek joined Maxx as the official vocalist. She recorded “No More (I Can’t Stand It),” which also became a major hit. Maxx toured Europe and Canada, performing on Top of the Pops, Bravo TV, MTV Festivals, and more.
Their debut album, “To The Maxximum,” was released in 1994, featuring the hit “You Can Get It.” After two final singles in 1995, Maxx disbanded, leaving a lasting impact on the Eurodance scene.
