Johnny Logan is an Irish singer, songwriter, and composer, best known for his historic success in the Eurovision Song Contest. Born Seán Patrick Michael Sherrard in 1954, Logan rose to international fame with his emotional ballads and strong stage presence, becoming one of Eurovision’s most iconic figures.

He won Eurovision twice as a performer—first in 1980 with the song “What’s Another Year,” and again in 1987 with “Hold Me Now,” which he also wrote. Both songs became international hits and solidified his reputation as a standout vocalist and songwriter. In 1992, Logan achieved a third Eurovision victory as the composer of “Why Me?”, performed by Linda Martin, making him the only artist to have won the contest three times in different capacities.

Known for his rich vocal tone and heartfelt lyrics, Logan has released numerous albums throughout his career, spanning genres from pop and rock to traditional ballads. His music remains popular across Europe, particularly in Ireland and Scandinavia.

Johnny Logan’s lasting impact on Eurovision and popular music has earned him the title of “Mr. Eurovision.” His timeless melodies and consistent performances have made him a beloved figure in European music history.
