Flying Steps

Flying Steps is a world-renowned dance and music act from Berlin, Germany, best known for their explosive blend of breakdance and urban music styles. Founded in 1993 by Kadir "Amigo" Memiş and Vartan Bassil, the group quickly rose to international prominence through championship wins, innovative performances, and an unmistakable style.
While primarily known for their elite dance skills, Flying Steps also made an impact in the music scene with tracks like “We Are Electric,” “In Da Arena,” and the album B-Town (2001), which combined elements of hip-hop, electro, and breakbeat. Their music mirrored their movement—rhythmic, bold, and built for impact.
Flying Steps are pioneers in combining street culture with classical influence. Their internationally acclaimed show “Red Bull Flying Bach” fused breakdance with the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, earning praise from both dance and classical communities. Productions like “Flying Pictures” further demonstrated their commitment to visual storytelling and cross-genre innovation.
Beyond performance, Flying Steps continue to educate and inspire through their Flying Steps Academy, shaping a new generation of urban performers. With decades of influence, Flying Steps remain a cultural force—bridging dance, music, and art with precision, passion, and global reach.
