Caramell was a vibrant Swedish Eurodance group that lit up the pop scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s with its infectious energy and signature sweet sound. The group was created by producers Juha “Millboy” Myllylä and Jorge “Vasco” Vasconcelo, who discovered vocalists Katia Löfgren and Malin Sundström at a karaoke bar in Stockholm in 1998. That chance encounter sparked the beginning of a project that would go on to leave a lasting mark on Scandinavian pop culture.

Blending bubbly melodies, dancefloor-friendly beats, and playful lyrics, Caramell released their debut album Gott Och Blandat in 1999, followed by Supergott in 2001. Their most iconic track, Caramelldansen originally a deep cut from Supergott, unexpectedly took on a second life years later as a viral internet meme, transforming the group into global cult favorites.

Though Caramell officially disbanded in 2002, their music powered by the vision and production talent of Juha and Jorge continues to resonate with nostalgic fans and new listeners alike. Their sweet, high-energy style and unmistakable charm helped define an era of Swedish Eurodance and live on through the continued popularity of their songs.
